I'm so glad that you've made it to my little piece of home here on the internet. I highly recommend pouring yourself a cup of coffee and taking a look around - there's a lot of pretty here!

Hi, I'm Megan.

Chris & Emmy Say I Do in Washington DC

Jun 18, 2017

Chris & Emmy’s Wedding Day – Oh man. Where to start with this wedding? Ok I know where – take a stoll through their engagement session here. After that pop on over to the Washingtonian feature of their wedding. Then  play this song while you scroll through the gorgeousness of this amazing couples day in Chevy Chase, from my point of view!

Chris & Emmy’s wedding day still gives me chills. To honor their dads, they chose Father’s Day as their wedding date. Chris arrived to the hotel where Emmy was getting ready in the vintage Rolls Royce that he and his father worked so hard to restore. They drove back to Chris’ mother’s house in Chevy Chase where their immediate family were waiting.

The couple chose to have cocktail hour with their close family before they had a beautiful, intimate ceremony, that was led by Emmy’s aunt on her father’s side. In the garden where they said their personalized vows, Emmy’s father’s sculptures were embellishing the ceremony space.

After the ceremony, Chris & Emmy mingled with their family, sharing these happy looks across the room. They were speaking their own language.

The couple sat down in the middle of the most gorgeous table and ate a delicious dinner, family style. Laughing, sharing stories, and smiling across the table at their loved ones.

Once dinner was over, Chris & Emmy stole away with me to take some bridal portraits as the sun set. Emmy walked down the street barefoot, as Chris told me that Emmy’s natural state is barefoot.Emmy introduced Chris to Harry Potter, and it was important to Emmy to incorporate that love into their wedding photographs. They stood together, their backs touching, and read Harry Potter to each other. It brought the most beautiful smile to Emmy’s face.

Emmy had made their wedding cake, and they had chosen to adorn the top of their cake with the Deathly Hallows sign and “Always”. Emmy, Chris, and their family spent the rest of the beautiful June night under the stars in the garden drinking, laughing, and loving. Congratulations Chris & Emmy – and thank you!
